Grease traps configured by capacity, flow and site connection
A grease trap or grease interceptor is selected to help separate fats, oils and grease from wastewater before discharge into the drainage network. A useful project enquiry should describe the installation type, expected flow, required capacity, inlet and outlet elevations, pipe diameter, access cover and maintenance requirements.
Type names are not always standardized between consultants, suppliers and projects. AAMCO currently publishes a detailed Grease Trap Type-B. Requirements called Type A, Type C or Type D should be submitted with the governing drawing or specification so the requested internal arrangement can be verified rather than inferred from the label alone.
